Welcome back to another Die Cuttin Divas challenge!  This week we have a sketch for you!  You can flip it, rotate it, make a card, layout, interpret it how you want as long as you use a die cut somewhere on your project!

I think it turned out a little 'fall-ish' but totally how I wanted it to.  I cut the sunflower from Stretch Your Imagination cartridge (one I barely use anymore) and the adhesive pearls are from OTC.   The sentiment is from Studio G as well as the ink.  Be sure to link your project HERE for a chance to win an amazing prize from this week's sponsor Whimsy Stamps!!

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge

Is there such thing as Christmas in March?!  I have yet another Christmas layout for that holiday scrapbook I'm putting together.  Over at Frosted Designs, they are having a fabulous Friday challenge to use grids on your project.  Here is what I came up with.

Die Cuttin Divas Challenge!

Good Tuesday morning!  I cannot believe how busy our summer has been!  The kids did give me a little time this week to work on a layout for the Die Cuttin Divas weekly challenge!  This week we want you to make a project using fall colors!  Although in some places it is still summer in full force, I do believe fall will be here before we know it!  I dug out an old picture that I've been meaning to make a layout for and here is what I came up with!

Die Cuttin Divas Tuesday Sketch Challenge!

WOW did I ever underestimate how much time I'd actually have during the summer to do my crafting! I cannot believe I am only able to really accomplish 1 project a week! I do however find myself really putting forth more effort in what I am able to put together. Like this card for instance. I am so incredibly happy with how it turned out!

This week is the weekly sketch challenge over at Die Cuttin Divas. I was so excited to work with this sketch because it's so gorgeous!

Here is the way I interpreted it!


I am so thrilled with how this card turned out! The sunflower is from Stretch Your Imagination. I embossed the middle with Swiss Dots, coated the pedals and stem with glossy accents and used Studio G glitter glue on the leaves. The background paper is all inked and I used D'vine Swirl embossing folder on the right side. The sentiment is from Peachy Keen Stamps (PK-288 Skunk Cheer Up Set), stamped with Technique Tuesday Chalk Ink Pads and the frame is from Gypsy Wanderings. I added some lady bug brads from the Eyelet Outlet and some adhesive pearls from Oriental Trading Company. The ribbon is from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Lavish Trimmings and I inked it with his coordinating crushed olive distress ink. I machine stitched the edges for the final touches! Also the frame and sunflower are popped from the card with ek success 3D dots.

A very late 1st birthday

I have some catching up to do....clearly! I'm just now doing a 1st birthday page for my 4.5 year old. Someone reassure me that some day I won't be 3 years behind!

I really enjoy doing layouts lately though, probably because I can get that much closer to filling the boys' albums! I decided to do this layout page because his 1st birthday was pretty generic (poor 3rd child). I didn't have a theme or do fancy invitations, so as you can see in the picture it was all about presents and cake! I wanted to use cuts that I could emboss as per the Whimsical Wednesday Happy Birthday Challenge. I am also entering it into the Paper Sundaes Challenge #69 Happy Birthday Christine!



I had a lot of fun with this layout! I would have normally only used 1 balloon (since he is only 1) but I thought that looked funny! I also stuffed some tissue paper behind the gift bag to make it look like a real gift :)

Baby girl

You will never hear me complain about making baby girl cards! I have probably 4 friends right now who are expecting babies in the next few months. 1 of them knows it's a girl and the others are going to be surprised. So I took this opportunity to make a special baby girl card. This is actually going to be her third girl so I joke that I have the other half of her Brady Bunch!

I'm entering this card into a few challenges, the first being the Peachy Keen Stamps Sketch Challenge #51 with a twist. The twist was to pop up a stamped image on the card. I'm also entering it into the Cricut Cardz Challenge #74 which is to make a card for a new baby (PERFECT!!). My card also qualified for the More Than Favors Wacky Wednesday #38 Anything Goes Challenge. Finally I'm including it in the Patches of Pink Link Up Party!

I'm really happy with how it turned out! I love the colors, I love the glitter! I love how girly it is! and it was really simple!



I started by stamping the background of the card. I felt like there was too much empty space behind the frame. I cut the frame from Stretch Your imagination, inked the edges, outlined it with glossy accents and used my Martha Stewart coarse glitter to glitz it up a bit! I also outlined the edges of the baby blocks with glossy accents and added glitter to those. Can you really have too much glitter?! Popped the blocks from the card per the twist in the Peachy Keen Challenge (as shown in the second picture) and added a ribbon to finish it up! I still can't believe how pretty this card turned out!

Greatest Mom!

Yes it's another Mother's Day card! I can't help myself! and when there are numerous challenges asking me to do them, how can I resist! I really tried to push through on this one and use accents, cuts, and colors that I normally would not. Of course I spiced it up with things I do normally use but that's ok too!

Die Cuttin Divas Challenge #12 and Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #57 both asked for Mother's Day cards. Scrappy Moms Stamps Terrific Tuesday Challenge wanted us to use the Paisley cartridge. and finally Paper Sundaes Challenge #66 was a sundae bar where the toppings were sparkle, pearls, die cuts and/or the color yellow!

To start out I do not have the Paisley cartridge but I did remember seeing a paisley cut in Stretch Your Imagination so I decided to use that. and to be honest, I've always just passed by that cut, never thinking I'd actually use it. and I think it really added a neat dimension to the card! again, cuts and colors completely out of my comfort zone! To satisfy the Paper Sundaes Challenge I used sparkly paper, the paisley die cut and obviously yellow. I'm kinda sad I don't own any pearls! I would have LOVED to use them! I put some stickles in the holes of the paisley cuts, used the Victorian Photo Punch for the corners and the ribbon is from Celebrate It. I love how the purple just pops on the card! Mother's Day!

I'm having so much fun making these Mother's Day cards! It's only 2 weeks away!!! I made this card tonight for a few challenges. The first is Peachy Keen Stamps Let's Face it Friday Challenge #13 which was to create a Mother's Day Card using Peachy Keen Faces! Cricut Cardz Challenge #71 was also to create a Mother's Day project. And finally More Than Favors CCCC #14 was to create a project using the Indie Art project. Here's my latest Mother's Day card.

I am getting more familiar with my gypsy. I used Indie Art for the flowers and Stretch Your Imagination for the flower pot. The flower pot is the layer part of the image. I used the hide feature on my gypsy to hide the flower so I could weld the shadows of the flowers to the pot. I added some Peachy Keen Everyday Character Faces to the flowers and used the ek success Victorian Photo Corner punch. The sentiment is computer generated. The tag is from Gypsy Wanderings. I added some eyelets from Making Memories and a little ribbon. I have to admit it started out not really being my favorite card but I think it's growing on me :)

Birthday Blessings

I've had these 3 balloons cut and glossed up for a few days now with a loss as to what to do with them. Finally today I decided to sit down and get this baby done! I decided on an easel card (I just love these!!!). I was also able to enter this in Birthday Sundaes Challenge #3 - Anything goes birthday.



The card itself is an odd shape but I wanted to make it to fit an envelope I had. Folded, the card is 5.5x4.25 in. I cut the balloons from Create a Critter at 3 inches. I stamped each of them with a stamp I had in my collection (I have no idea the brand), in the different ink colors. Then I loaded them with some glossy accents and let them dry overnight. Then I just used some bakers twine to tie them together.

I used 4 of my white flower eyelets (from Oriental Trading I believe) in the corners on the front of the card. It's hard to tell but I also added a ribbon to cover up the over lapping pink and blue glitter paper.

The sentiment is from George and Basic Shapes cut at 1.5 in and layered. The gift is from Stretch Your Imagination also cut at 1.5 in. Instead of cutting the bow layer for the present though, I used some blue stickles.

Let's not forget about Grandma!

I would like to thank my sister for reminding me that Grandmothers are mothers too :) She asked me to create a photo card for her mother in law and the picture inserts would have her grandchildren in them. So this is what I came up with!



Let's see.....the grass is from Create a Critter and welded together with the gypsy. The sunflower, and both greens are from Stretch Your Imagination. I just cut a circle from George and Basic Shapes for the inside of the sunflower since I did not want the face cut that came with the design. I embossed it with Swiss Dots to get the sunflower look. I also added a butterfly from Create a Critter to cover up the grasshopper on the tall grass. I thought the card needed a bit more pink! The sentiment is computer generated and punched with the Fiskars border punch. I added some buttons, ribbon and doodling. The inside of the card has a space for a special message and 4 photo inserts to hold 8 pictures. Any feedback is always appreciated! Happy Sunday :)

Where flowers bloom....

This is a special card I wanted to make. I have a friend whose 15 month old daughter was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. For the longest time I could not figure out what kind of card to make. What was appropriate and fitting. Then I saw this sentiment in a magazine and I hope it is alright for the given situation. Also over at Fantabulous Cricut their challenge was to create a spring themed project so I thought this fit in there as well. Thanks for looking.


This was also my first attempt at an easel card! I think it turned out really nice!! It's 4.5x4.5. I cut the flowers from Stretch Your Imagination, one at 3 inch one at 3.5 inch. The sentiment was computer generated but I cut bloom from Just Because Cards. The word Hope came from Gypsy Wanderings and I layered and added some brads to decorate it up a bit.

Spring is in the air!

Wow did I have fun doing this card!! I have to say that sometimes it's the paper that makes a card fantastic. I'm so happy with how this turned out. It is nothing like I thought it would be but I found this paper and had to use it. I wanted bright glittery colors too. The idea for the card came from Cricut Cardz Challenge. Their recipe was to make a Thank You card with yellow, blue and white, and to also use a border cut. I also put it in the Cards Cupid Blog Challenge and Die Cuttin Divas Challenge #7 which was to create a Spring Inspired Card. Hope you like it!



The background paper I used is from the Doodlin' Around stack. I used Stretch Your Imagination for the sunflowers and Create a Critter for the butterfly (both were cut at 1.25 inch). I used Gypsy Wanderings for my Thank You border cut (it was the only cartridge I have that has border options!). And then added some brown cording to finish it off. I just love it! It's so bright and springy! (too bad we've got sleet and freezing rain outside).

Tall Thank You Card

Hello fellow bloggers!  Finally the creative juices are flowing again thanks to yet some more inspiration.  Over at Cricut Cardz Challenge I was to create a tall 9x4 card using any cartridges and theme I wanted.  Since I had yet to create a flowery card I thought it was about time.  Here is what I came up with.

The card itself is just a basic rectangle and I just used some scraps that I had lying around.  I used the Recollections border punch on the sunflower paper.  The tall flower is from Stretch Your Imagination and I got the flower tag from Tags, Bags, Boxes & More.  I stamped the flower tag with my Stampendous block stamp.  It's hard to tell but I embossed the it with Swiss Dots and hung it with some bakers twine.  Really easy and basic but I think it totally fits my personality!  I just love it!
