It's all about the shoes!
I have a bestie friend whose birthday is next week and each year we go to DSW shoe shopping with all of her birthday coupons. She is a shoe fanatic! She is a heals fanatic! She'd wear heals to work out if it were....well not so frowned upon. She came home a few months ago from the store with this gorgeous pair of animal print heals and I thought they were adorable! It gave me the perfect idea for a birthday card :) and I'm really happy with how it turned out!!! It's just really simple, but so HER!

I used Forever Young cart for the shoes and Recollections Animal Kingdom paper pack. The bling on the shoes is actually from Oriental Trading Company. I also added some glossy accents to the sole and heals :) The purple paper was cut with my Fiskars border punch, stamped with an Inkadinkado stamp I got out of the Michaels dollar bin, using Studio G ink. I added some bakers twine and a button for a little more decoration. I also inked the edges of the card itself.
I'm able to enter this card into the Paper Playtime Challenge #45 which was to create a tall card and Birthday Sundaes Challenge #9 which was to create a birthday card and add at least 3 circles (hopefully my bling counts!). I'm also entering it in the Paper Sundaes Challenge #69 Happy Birthday Christine which is to make a birthday creation!
Lastly I added it to the Patches of Pink Thursday Link Up Party!

Let's not forget about Grandma!
I would like to thank my sister for reminding me that Grandmothers are mothers too :) She asked me to create a photo card for her mother in law and the picture inserts would have her grandchildren in them. So this is what I came up with!

Let's see.....the grass is from Create a Critter and welded together with the gypsy. The sunflower, and both greens are from Stretch Your Imagination. I just cut a circle from George and Basic Shapes for the inside of the sunflower since I did not want the face cut that came with the design. I embossed it with Swiss Dots to get the sunflower look. I also added a butterfly from Create a Critter to cover up the grasshopper on the tall grass. I thought the card needed a bit more pink! The sentiment is computer generated and punched with the Fiskars border punch. I added some buttons, ribbon and doodling. The inside of the card has a space for a special message and 4 photo inserts to hold 8 pictures. Any feedback is always appreciated! Happy Sunday :)

Homemade Flowers
I'm on 'vacation' this weekend visiting my parents which means I get my moms cartridges to choose from as well as my own! I love taking advantage of that! I was also on a mission to learn to create homemade flowers for Peachy Keen Stamps Let's Face it Friday Flower Power Challenge #12! First, Angelica, thank you for linking your tutorial! I used your demonstration to create some flowers of my own!

I used Paper Doll Dress Up for my bride and cut her at 3.5 inches. I also used the Everyday Character faces Peachy Keen Stamps. I desperately need to get more of these awesome stamps! The sentiment is from Sweethearts and is cut at 2.5 inches. I used a fiskars border punch for the black flower paper and added stickles to the 'i' in congratulations. I used Picturesque for the flower pedals. I cut out the same flower 6 times and layered them, then I added the paper and pearl in the center to cover the void. I just love the look of this card! and love that it can be either a bridal shower or wedding card.
I wanted to add my other flower card that I put together tonight. I just love the colors in this card!

The flowers in this card are also from Picturesque. This paper was a little thicker so it filled in the center of the flower better so I didn't feel like I needed decorations for the middle. The sentiment was from Lyrical Letters and I used the hide contour feature to get the blackout look. I added stickles to the center of the sentiment flower and some bakers twine. I just love how bright the colors are!
