Catch the bug Tuesday challenge

So I'm a day behind....but determined nonetheless to complete the week of Christmas in July projects for Catch the bug!  For Tuesday they posted a freebie (Tropical Santa) and wanted a tropical theme or to use tropical colors using the image.  This was a bit more tough than I anticipated!  So I kept with traditional colors I guess and went with the tropical theme as best I could!
This image was extremely easy to work with!  I thought he turned out pretty cute!
Supplies:
Tropical Santa - Bugaboo Stamps
Copic Markers
D'Vine Swirl embossing folder
Stampin Up flower punch
Technique Tuesday ink
Bakers Twine
Jenni Bowlin - sun stamp

Studio G - sentiment

Valentine's Day Treats

Apparently I took quite the vacation from blogging!  I did not anticipate to be so busy over the holidays and beyond.  BUT I decided to make it a priority to get some Valentine's Day treats made for the kiddos teachers.  I found these adorable Ghiradelli Treat holders on Kerry's Paper Crafts Blog and fell in love!  She has an awesome tutorial as well.  Here is how I made them:

These were super easy to make!  I used paper from K&Company (I just love their double sided stacks).  I also made my very first digital stamp!  The Valentine's Day stamp on the front is my very own!  I sized it to 1.5", used the Recollections circle punch and matted it on the 1 3/4" scallop punch from Stampin Up.  I used my foam dots to pop it from the front.  I finished it by rounding the edges.  I'll also have the kids write a little Valentine's note on the inside (or at least have them sign their name).

I am entering these treat holders in My Craft Spot's Monday Challenge #43 - Valentine's Day and Paper Sundaes Challenge #106 - Clean and Simple.

Thanks and happy Monday!

Die Cuttin Divas Challenge!

If you're looking for the Paper Primper Blog Hop click HERE

Tuesday has rolled around again!  So that means it's time for another Die Cuttin Divas challenge!  This week is all about the football theme!  We are pretty big football fans here in our house (well big Detroit sports fans in general I guess you could say!).  But recently my 8 year old has transformed into a University of Michigan fan.  My guess is really as good as yours as neither my husband or I went to UofM (or MSU for that matter).  So I wanted to take this opportunity to make him a little card.  I'm SO proud of myself!  This turned out exactly how I wanted.  I am in love!  I decided to try out a slider card and think it turned out adorable!  What do you think?!

The football and goal post are from Sports Mania and the player from Everyday Paper Dolls.  I added an M to his jersey with Studio G glitter glue.  I decided to make the football a bit sparkly with some stickles.  and of course you can't mistake his adorable face...I used Everyday Character Assortment from Peachy Keen Stamps.  I inked all of the paper edges to finish it off.

We hope you decide to make a football project this week to share with us!  Be sure to submit it HERE!!

Die Cuttin Divas Challenge #16

This week at Die Cuttin Divas we were to make a project for celebration, using party hats, gifts, etc. I couldn't resist doing another birthday layout...for yep the same kid but now his second birthday! We had a theme this time...ELMO! and as a warning to all of you, I've boycotted red frosting since! I really had a blast making this LO and I think it turned out ADORABLE! I just LOVE this Sesame Street Friends cartridge. Thanks mom for giving it to me!

I'm completely in love with the Elmo's! I cut them pretty big (5") mostly to help with the details of his fur.

I've been trying really really hard not to overwhelm a page with 6 pictures that I ABSOLUTELY have to have displayed. I've been good about picking my top 1 or 2 and embellishing the page with other cute details. I have photo storage boxes for each of the boys for their extra pictures and that helps a lot! Below is the recipe for the page. Can't wait to see what you come up with! Come play along with us HERE!
