Beach Day

Oh am I loving doing these layouts! Today is a BONUS challenge over at Die Cuttin Divas and the winner will receive some fun goodies! The challenge is to create a summer/beach inspired project. I took this opportunity to make yet another layout. We live a mere 30 minutes from the 'big lake' (Lake Michigan) and are there very often in the summertime....so I am not short on beach pictures that need scrappin! Here is my project!

I had so much fun putting this together! I was browsing through my cricut books and just kept finding more elements to add! I inked basically the entire sun to give it a nice orange glow. I embossed the clouds and waves with the D'vine Swirl folder.

I tore the paper for the sand look and embossed it with the Swiss Dots folder. I love that I found a little sail boat in my stash of stuff! I thought it went perfectly!

This was a pretty simple layout. The pictures are even printed and ready to be glued down!

I can't wait to see what you come up with this week! Make sure you submit your project at Die Cuttin Divas for your chance to win some super fun goodies!!!

Die Cuttin Divas Challenge #16

This week at Die Cuttin Divas we were to make a project for celebration, using party hats, gifts, etc. I couldn't resist doing another birthday layout...for yep the same kid but now his second birthday! We had a theme this time...ELMO! and as a warning to all of you, I've boycotted red frosting since! I really had a blast making this LO and I think it turned out ADORABLE! I just LOVE this Sesame Street Friends cartridge. Thanks mom for giving it to me!

I'm completely in love with the Elmo's! I cut them pretty big (5") mostly to help with the details of his fur.

I've been trying really really hard not to overwhelm a page with 6 pictures that I ABSOLUTELY have to have displayed. I've been good about picking my top 1 or 2 and embellishing the page with other cute details. I have photo storage boxes for each of the boys for their extra pictures and that helps a lot! Below is the recipe for the page. Can't wait to see what you come up with! Come play along with us HERE!

Sweet Treats - part hats
Sweethearts - gifts
George and Basic Shapes - the number 2

A super birthday!

I have yet to make a birthday card, so when I saw the Challenge Me Monday #52 over at Fantabulous Cricut I decided it was about time. Then this past weekend my mom gave me one of her cartridges (Sesame Street Friends). At first I wondered what I'd ever do with it since my kids are grown out of the Sesame Street phase. That's when I saw it. SUPER GROVER! I knew I had to use it! So here is what I came up with!

Like I said I used Sesame Street Friends for super Grover and cut him at 4.5 inches. Used George and Basic Shapes for the frame cut out. The sentiment was computer generated, added some eyelets and some bakers twine. For a little added glitter I used red stickles for Grover's 'G'. I am just in love with this card!
