Die Cuttin Divas Challenge!

Wow Tuesdays seem to creep up on me way too fast!  It's time for another Die Cuttin Divas challenge and this week it's all about the colors of Halloween!  We want to see orange, green, black and purple on your projects!  I of course put together another layout.  I've got plenty of Halloween pictures to scrap!

It's just a simple layout but I felt like the paper was over powering so I wanted to lay off the embellishments a bit.  The trick or treat title is from Mini Monsters (such a cool cartridge!).  The stamped image is from PSA Essentials (a new prize I won from the Whimsical Wednesday Blog Hop!).  I totally love it!  The ink that came with it was a 2 toned pad so the outside was orange and the inside black.  Stamp it once and you're done!  GREAT stamps!  The rest of the add ons are just from my stash.

I hope you are in the Halloween spirit and create something for our challenge!  Submit your projects HERE!

Peachy Keen Let's Face it Friday challenge

Wow it's been a while since I've had time to do some fun challenges!  I decided to put a layout together for Peachy Keen's Let's Face it Friday 'Windy' challenge.  I pulled out some pictures from our local kids marathon from last year and thought they'd be perfect!  Hope this counts as 'wind'!!

I really like how it turned out!  I used Sports Mania for the people and the banner.  I did have to color in the shorts on the guys and shirts on the girls.  Not sure why the cart didn't supply those clothing items!  I used stickers from Die Cuts with a View for the banner and threaded some bakers twine through them.  The ribbon and road are both from My Community.  and of course the face is from Peachy Keen Stamps Everyday Character Assortment.

Tuesday Die Cuttin Divas Challenge!

Hello again!  This week over at Die Cuttin Divas we'd like to see some reptiles on your projects!  I decided to take this opportunity to finish off another layout.  I went WAY back to April 2006 for these photos.  We went on a huge family vacation to Florida and visited Animal Kingdom.  Here's what I came up with!

I had a lot of fun putting this together.  I used Create a Critter for the grass and welded a bunch of them together using my gypsy.  The pond is also from Create a Critter.  The snake and alligator are both from Everyday Paper Dolls.  I used Plantin Schoolbook for the words Animal Kingdom and layered them with the shadow feature.  I also added corners to the side pictures with the ek success photo corner punch (I love that thing!!).  Lastly the tree stickers are from Stickopotomus.

I hope you decide to make a reptile project this week!  Be sure to link it up HERE for a chance to win a great prize.

Die Cuttin Divas Challenge!

It's time for another Die Cuttin Divas weekly challenge!  This week is all about desserts.  We would like to see a dessert somewhere on your project.  I decided to branch out from cards and layouts and came across an incredibly cute idea for a cupcake gift card holder!  Check it out!!

I had so much fun making this!  I used THIS tutorial called 'Hey Cupcake' from Fabulously Artsy and just did my own thing in places.  The tutorial is wonderful but I did make some changes.  Below is a general run down of what I did!
1.  Cut out 6" circle on chipboard.  Then trace a 2" circle.  Cut the edges just up to the inside circle and fold up to make a cupcake.  Hot glue it together.
2.  Accordion pleat paper to cover outside of cupcake.
3.  Cut a 3" Styrofoam ball in half, position gift card inside, use foam dots along sides to hold it together.  Then glue it inside the cupcake.
4.  Glue ribbon and paper flowers (I used Forever young cart) to cupcake to decorate making sure you don't cover the opening.
5.  Paint wooden bead red, and glue it to the top of a small binder clip.  Use crumbled paper or ribbon to make 'whipped cream'.
6.  Insert gift card into binder clip, slide it into the cupcake and finish with glitter and stickles!

I used glossy accents on the bottom layer of paper flowers and sprinkled them with Martha Stewart glitter.  I loaded the top layer of flowers with Studio G glitter glue.

I think it turned out pretty cute for my first go!  I can see myself making a whole lot more of these!  I think they are adorable!

Be sure to submit your dessert project HERE at Die Cuttin Divas for a chance to win our weekly prize!!!

So, let’s get started. Paper Primper is the start of the hop. Follow along with us to:

You should be arriving at the blog hop from Kacee. If you came here by chance, go to Paper Primper to start. If you are ready to go to the next site, go HERE and check out what Suzanne has created!

For my project I stumbled across Linda's Stamping Loft and she had this SUPER cute idea that I had to try out.  You can find her post HERE.  I decided not to put too many embellishments on the front of mine so I could really show off the Paper Primper papers!  I think they turned out adorable!

Have any of you ever been 'BOO'd'?  When an annyonomous person leaves a basket of goodies on your front step?  I'm preparing myself to get 'Boo'd' this year.  I'm NEVER prepared!  So I thought these little treat holders would be perfect.  I'm not as prepared as I'd like though as I do not have any snack sized M&M bags around.

See you next month!

All of the paper is from Paper Primper Altered Art as well as the black, green and orange fibers.
I used Home Accents for the large 5x7 frame and Gypsy Wanderings for the smaller hollow frames.
The flower is from Imaginisce and I inked it to make it darker (it was originally white).
The Ghosts -n- Goblins stickers are from Queen & Co.
I used black ink from Rubber Stampede to ink the edges of all of the papers.
The scallop edge is from ek success victorian scallop diamond.

I hope you are able to get through all of the wonderful projects and get some great Halloween inspiration!!!

Die Cuttin Divas October Sketch Challenge

Welcome to another sketch challenge over at Die Cuttin Divas! I had so much fun working with this sketch.  I usually change them up a bit to really make it my own project.  I knew exactly what I wanted to make and it came together perfectly!  Here is the sketch:
and here is my take on it:

I decided to think about my almost 7 year olds birthday.  He is really into 'army' and camouflage so I thought this was right up his ally!   I used George and Basics for the stars.  Just cut regular rectangles for the background papers and used Christmas for the 'banner'.  I actually just enlarged the ribbon cut on the Christmas cartridge and used 1 of the tails of it!  Worked perfectly!  I also embossed the camo paper with D'vine Swirls.  I inked the edges and finished it off with some doodling.  I think he is going to love it!

We'd love to see how you interpret the provided sketch!  Submit your cards HERE for a chance to win a great prize!!!
